Frederick MADE creates and curates high-quality, handmade goods made by independent artists and designers. We encourage people to discover the power of creativity with our crafty products, paint classes, and creative experiences. In addition to our curated products, our founder, Miranda, makes over 50% of the items in our store. Our production has grown exponentially over the years and are thrilled to be able to design and produce most of our products right here in Frederick.
We work with a small group of local artists to provide handmade jewelry, accessories, candles, stationary, artwork and more, alongside a collection of curated clothing and gift items.

Our Journey
Miranda Mossburg spent her college years making and selling handmade jewelry. After a series of unexpected opportunities, Frederick MADE was founded, on a college student budget and a plethora of Pinterest ideas.
From an 800 square foot "house store" on West Third Street, to a full fledged artist market of almost 3,000 square feet, Frederick MADE continued hosting more than 40 artists at a time for nearly four years.
In 2025, a new era began. Frederick MADE and Sweet As Sugarcane, Miranda's little handmade jewelry business, began a new chapter together. We said goodbye to our artists market and settled into an almost 200 year old cottage in the historic Shab Row area of Downtown Frederick. Our new iteration of Frederick MADE looks more like a typical gift shop, but our commitment to handmade has not changed. Miranda still makes all of the shops jewelry, and has learned how to make dozens of product lines for the shop, from graphic tees to paint by number kits, and everything in between.
